On another note, two coyotes attacked and killed a girl in Canada. Some of the coyotes in and around the Palos Forest Preserves are getting bigger every year, as big as wolves (50 pounds and up) Will a coyote attack a grown human in our area? Probably not, but caution should be exercised when running the trails. Be careful running alone, be aware of your surroundings, maybe carry a small pocket knife.
Thank God that Jerry scared off the coyotes on our first loop. After hitting Big Bertha the second time around, I was dead meat, and would've let the coyotes drag me away without caring. Steve (not feeling so Wolverinish)
The coyotes should be happy I'm older and slower since I won't be able to catch one, They look tasty. The biggest one I've seen was probably only 25 to 30 lbs. Rick
Thanks for letting me hang out with you guys this morning. It was fun. Sorry I only went out 1 loop, I did not all my gear to do more. Next time for sure. Tony Cesario
Urban coyotes lose their natural fear of humans, which is further worsened by people intentionally feeding coyotes. In such situations, some coyotes have begun to act aggressively toward humans, chasing joggers and bicyclists, confronting people walking their dogs, and stalking small children.

The coyotes know where I am and they can take their best shot whenever they want to.

The slowest person will get caught and eaten - this is motivation not to be that person.
Stay fast my friends.

The old and wounded are easy prey. That's why you won't see me out there.

From Wikepedia:
Coyotes primarily hunt in pairs.

I only wish to get attacked by Cougars...
