Wednesday Practice

Meet at Tinley Park High School. We'll be jogging over to 1/2 mile park. Which is actually called Nasebandt Park (we'll meet in the NE corner ( 174th & Odell Ave.)

Suggestions needed:

The doctor is calling it a tibialis posterior strain on my left leg. His suggestion is to take it easy on the running for a week and cross train. Obviously the marathon is less than two weeks away.... any work out suggestions? I'm going to try light running on Friday and hopefully I can be there Saturday and next Wednesday.

I think the doc is right. We have less than two weeks before the marathon. You have trained all year for this day. Take it very very easy. Rest your legg. ONLY 12 DAYS LEFT.

Be smart, Ricky! Rest and read running articles to motivate you...your training is done.
Maybe try to run next week, but nothing crazy. You are no stranger to running marathons injured...try your hardest to feel good at the start of this one!!

Hang in there.

Pool running is good - but you need a vest. Ride a stationery bike. But ultimaltely the hay is in the barn - your training is pretty much done - you cannot get any more fit - a little cross training will prevent you from losing a little fitness but the most important thing to do is to rest it up - ice it like crazy and try running a little next week. Soft level surfaces are best - like Waterfall Glen. You'll be fine.
