Wednesday Practice

Meet at Tinley Park High School. We'll jog over to mile park and do some mile repeats. We'll depart Tinley Park High at 6:40. If you're running late you can come directly to mile park.

We'll stay at the track for 3-4 more weeks working on our speed than we will hit the trails and roads for the summer -working on our anaerobic threshold and strength with some hill workouts.

Nice article about Austin & his dad Jim

A good team race that several of us are planning to run is the Band on the Run in Orland on Sunday June 8th. The course is in and around Centenial Park - where we have done several workouts this past year. So let's come out and support the team. It's $20 if you sign up before race day. www.palosfitness.com

Great article aobut our young Skull star, Austin. However, if the rest of us are training under the "guidance of Rich Matula" too, how come we can't get some recognition?

One of my most important tasks as coach of TT&T is shielding the athletes from the media so they can concentrate on their training. I get numerous calls from the press weekly that I turn down, especially for our veteran athletes.

I have seen what the media can do to Brittany Spears and I would not want that to happen to certain ultramarathoners on our team.

Rich,
We all appreciate your shielding us from the media. We've all seen the pictures of Brittany Spears, and we'd hate to see a certain ultramarathoner end up looking like that. . .

It is good to keep the pernicious paparazzi at bay, and for that we am most grateful for the wisdom and fortitude of our revered Coach.

However,I have heard it said.... that certain ultra marathoners are immune from the degradations that paralyze every day people; and the athletes who sucumb to road race excursions requiring brief periodic cardiobolic effort.
