Next three practices -read carefully

Wednesday August 6th
Hickory Creek Junction is located on Route 30, approximately 1.0 miles west of Wolf Road, in Mokena. This is where the pedestrian bridge that crosses Route 30 is. Park in the most northern parking lot. Be ready to warm-up at 6:40. Tim Buttimer will oversee this challenging yet fun workout. Tim said we could stop by his house after practice. He lives about 1 mile away.

Saturday August 9th
Meet at Little Red Schoolhouse for a long run - start at 8:30.

Wednesday August 13th - Meet at Carl Neuman's House in Orland - we'll start the practice a bit earlier and have a little shorter workout - then we're invited back to Carl's for a team barbecue. Carl will provide my details next week.

Let's see some results for the triathletes and duathletes and anyone else who raced in the past week.

See you at the barbecue when I get back......... Get those miles in.

Just letting you all know...I live! Saturday, July 26...DINO Xterra Triathlon, New Castle, IN. 1/2 mile swim, 10 mile mtn bike, 4.2 mile cross country run. Zero training for the swim. Not much training for the run. 31st place out of 150, 3rd in age group. Next time I've got nothing to do on a Saturday, I'm gonna sit in my pool and drink beer!

You really don't want swim lessons from the guy who was flagging down the safety boat 200 meters in! I hadn't swum a competitive stroke since my last tri...in 2004! Thing that sucked is...the chick in the "safety" canoe panicked and MISSED me...nearly paddled into the race course. I just said "forgettaboutit" and kept swimming.

Nice job sommer, triathletes are cool...nice going in the muddy buddy carl and rich...way to go francisco in san fran.

i did my half im last weekend. it sucked.. they canceled the swim because of some undertow and high waves so it became a duathlon. i cranked on the bike but had a weak run so no placing... now time to focus on the marathon. should be back with you guys in a week....

Bummer on the Steelhead dude! Stupid waves. It was flat as a pancake on Friday, and we ran thru 5-7 footers in my boat on the way to the city Saturday morning! It would've been REAL tough to swim in that!
