Wednesday Practice & Pub Crawl Details

Wednesday Practice - Meet at the Orland Park Pool - at 6:30. The warm-up will be incorporated into the run - we'll cover about 7-8 miles.

Pub Crawl
We had a great turn out last year, so whether you’ve run with us once or every day this year, this is the time to come out. The pub crawl will start Saturday November 6th at 7:30 at Buffalo Wild Wings in Orland Park. If you’re planning on eating, get there earlier and order food right away, as we will depart for an undisclosed location at around8PM.

For first timers: This is not a race… we all participate together and move at a very comfortable/slow pace, so no one should feel they can’t keep up. Plus this year all places are within ¼ mile or so from the next one. Some women even did this in heels last year! (male or female, we are all tough skulls… no heels for the men though).

If you would like to join in but cannot make the start, you can call Carl’s cell: 630-854-6266 or Rich’s cell: 630-697-1499 during the evening to find out where we are going to be so you can meet up. If I’ve missed anything or you have questions, just comment on the blog under this post. Hope to see you all there.

Where will it finish? Where should I park?

I don't understand what a pub crawl is. Would someone mind explaining?

Also, how do I join this club?

Question 1
A pub crawl (sometimes called a bar tour, bar crawl or bar-hopping) is the act of one or more people drinking in multiple pubs or bars in a single night, normally walking to each one between drinking.
In the case of TT&T we jog to each one, but it's up to the individual, you can even drive if you like.
Question 2
This is something that can only be answered by the skullmaster in person or just show up whenever you like.

The club is very easy to join. But like the Hotel California it's very hard to leave.

To join just come to one of the prractices or pub crawls listed on these pages. If you have questions e-mail the coach who is listed on the home page. The only thing you have to lose is minutes off of your PRs.

Okay, I'm just going to show up then to a practice, or the pub crawl, next chance I get. This club seems to have the right balance between dedication and fun.

Can i drink and run at the same time ?

Usually drinking and running is reserved for long distance running, but it would be welcomed in the club at any distance.

Plan on parking in the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot where the pub crawl starts. We will finish not far from there.

So drinking and driving is ok too?

Of course not, so I have a few suggestions if its your first pub crawl.
1. Don't get drunk/drink responsibly.
2. Bring a designated driver.
3. Cab companies need money just as much as the police (and their cheaper). Heres a few from the phone book. I've used Macnamara.
a. Macnamara cab 708 499 5777 Chicago ridge.
b. Orland taxi 708 403 4188

4. Put in a few extra miles and run home.
5. Bring a mountain bike with lights and helmit. And stay off the streets as much as possible. There's plenty of trails in Orland.
For these last two options dress warm just in case you end up sleeping under someones bushes along with your new best friend the garden gnome.
One more thing, make sure your cell phone is charged.
