Don't Miss this One - Wed 8/23

The Classic Ramsgate Workout (hills & tempo)- The perfect workout for marathoners, 1/2 marathoners and those running the Scenic 10. Without having this workout under your belt going into the Fall racing season is like going to a gun fight with a knife or wearing a Shaun Cassidy shirt to an Iron Maiden concert or riding a Huffy at the Tour De France. Sensible runners won't do it.

Here are directions to the meeting place. It's 5 minutes from 40 Acres. From LaGrange Rd. take 123rd/McCartney Road west to Wolf Road (2 miles) . Turn Right on Wolf go two blocks past the Shadow Ridge subdivision and pull into the parking lot on the west side of Wolf.

We'll start the warm-up at 6:30. Be there or regret it as you get passed in your next race.

Hey! I have had two Huffys. Good dependable and have never even broken a spoke.

If I can procure some of the stuff Landis uses, I would be very competetive in the Tour with my Huffy laying under me.

Spannuth will make his Fall Cameo apperance.

Ultra marathon Man is a ego manic filled book, Dean is a great runner, however bringing undue and unwanted attention to the subculture of Ultra running. He is for profit ONLY hence his 50 Marathons 50 States in 50 days you must pay to run with him what a joke!!!!!

A real runner read below.....
Sam Thompson Completes 50 in 50 in 50 On a 99-day trek of the Appalachian Trail in 2003 (22mi/day - basically a run of the 2,200 mile trail), Sam Thompson realized that he was completing the distance of a marathon each day and the idea to run a marathon a day for 50 days (in 50 states) was hatched. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the idea took wings as a way to spread the word about the work still needed in the gulf coast area - and in October 2005, the idea was presented to the media and sponsors sought. Thompson planned his route, made travel arrangements and on July 1, the 25-year old from Vicksburg MS began his first of 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days at the Leadville Trail Marathon. Fifty days later, on Saturday, August 19th, Thompson ran his 50th marathon - completing all 50 states with an average pace just under four hours. Congratulations!
