Boston Qualifier:
Karen Duffy - WAY TO GO, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know I didn't get a chance to train very much but what the hell I paid for it so I ran it. I was not doing too badly until my stomach went out at about the half way point. Lack of training and heat don't mix. At least not a PW (personal worst) though. Still, a bad day marathoning is better than a good day at work. 4:39:27

Way to represent, Skulls!
I'm proud to be associated with such a gutsy bunch, gritting it out again on the hot streets of Chi-town.

Great job to all the marathoners today. Congrats!
Karen Duffy... on your way to Boston again!!
Darcy... great time today.
Jim R. How was Bridgeport?

I was doing good... I was on pace for a 3:42 according to the text messages my parents got but at the 30K my legs were tight so I stopped to stretch and they locked up and I couldn't move much for a few miles... it really sucked because then the heat really took its toll. Not good when you hands go numb and you can't lift your legs up but I finished 40 minutes faster than last year...
Congrats EVERYONE. Carrie, thanks for the gatorade at aid station six!
Things got busy and I flaked out on my training again. Thanks to Kirk and Rich for some much appreciated motivation along the way. Also, congratulations Carrie. Haven't seen you since the news broke.

Brian - Is your baby almost here?!?!
Good luck and enjoy.

We are at the hospital now. It is going to be a long day, but before it ends we should have a future runner in our hands. I will let you know the details. Perhaps we could get him started on the track next Wednesday.

Rich, make sure we give him an extra 20 seconds rest between intervals... after all he is new to the world, and adjusting to air. Maybe he can peak in time for a turkey trot.
